Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today while addressing public meetings at Mcleodganj and Khaniyara in Dharamshala in favour of BJP candidates for Ward No. 1, 2, 3, 14, 15 and 16 of Municipal Corporation, urged the people to give their wholehearted support to the BJP candidates in the Municipal Corporation Dharamshala elections slated for 7th of next month.
The Chief Minister said that the people of the State have given their massive support to the BJP during the last over three years as the BJP won all the elections, be it for Lok Sabha, bye Elections to Vidhan Sabha or elections for the Panchayati Raj Institutions or Urban Local Bodies. He said that this shows the faith of people of the State in policies and programmes initiated by the state government for welfare of the poor and the downtrodden.
Jai Ram Thakur said that although there was Congress Government from 2012 to 2017 in the State and the Municipal Corporation of Dharamshala was also governed by the Congress, but nothing was done on ground. He said that the town was completed neglected in matter of development as the Congress leaders were busy in setting scores with one another. He urged the people to vote and support the BJP candidates this time to ensure that the town regains its old glory and status.
The Chief Minister said that the present State Government has ensured balanced and equitable development of all areas of the State, which special focus on those areas which remained neglected during the Congress tenure. He also accused the Congress leaders for misguiding the people of the State, by raking up non issues in a bid to divert attention of the people from core issues of development.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the victory of the BJP candidates in Dharamshala and other Municipal Corporations would ensure planned and systematic development of these upcoming towns of the State. He said that Dharamshala was the second most important town of the State after Shimla and the Government was committed to uphold its cultural, historic and political importance.
Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Sarveen Chaudhary, Forest Minister Rakesh Pathania and Member of Parliament Kishan Kapoor also addressed the gathering on the occasion and urged the people to vote and support BJP candidates in the Municipal Corporation elections for ensuring better development of the Dharamshala town.
