Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur virtually inaugurated Mother and Child Hospital at Sundernagar in Mandi district constructed at a cost of Rs. 12 crore from Shimla today.
Addressing the people of Sundernagar virtually from Shimla, Chief Minister said that this Hospital was sanctioned for the State by the National BJP President and the then Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda in the year 2017. He said that the work on this project was expedited during the last about three years. He said that the Covid-19 pandemic has forced the State Government to virtually dedicate this hospital to the people of Sundernagar. He said that this hospital would be used as a Dedicated Covid-19 Hospital and would ensure better health care services to the people of the district. He said that Ner Chowk Medical College has been dedicated as a Covid-19 Hospital and an additional 100 bedded pre-fabricated hospital would be completed within a few days.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the Civil Hospital Sundernagar has been upgraded to 150 bedded hospital and was providing quality services to the people of the region. He said that the State Government would provide additional funds for construction of lift and other necessary infrastructure in the hospital. He said that increase in number of Covid-19 cases was a matter of concern. He said that the State Government has urged the people visiting the State to come with RTPCR tests within 72 hours mandatory and they would be have to remain in home quarantine/isolation at the place of their residence for fourteen days.
Chief Minister urged the elected representatives of local bodies, both in urban and rural areas to closely get involved in effective enforcement of all the SoPs and guidelines in their respective areas and initiate legal action against the violators so as to check spread of this pandemic.
Health Minister Dr. Rajiv Saizal said that the State Government under the able leadership of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur was committed to provide best health care facilities to the people of the State. He said that people of the area would get better health services with the inauguration of this hospital.
MLA Sundernagar Rakesh Jamwal while welcoming the Chief Minister through the video conferencing thanked him for dedicating this Rs. 12 crore Mother and Child Hospital to the people of the area. He said that this 50-bedded hospital has been completed in a record time of about three years. He said that staff quarters were also being constructed at a cost of Rs 10 crore near the hospital. He urged the Chief Minister for opening a Telemedicine Centre at Sundernagar to facilitate the people of the area.
Secretary Health Amitabh Awasthi was present at Shimla with the Chief Minister whereas, Spokesman State BJP Ajay Rana, Mandal President Mandal BJP Prakash Thakur, Deputy Commissioner Mandi Rugved Thakur, joined the event from Sundernagar.
