Urban Development and TCP Minister Suresh Bhardwaj and Information Technology Minister Dr. Ram Lal Markanda in a statement issued here today said that in the wake of sharp surge in number of Covid-19 cases in the State, the State Government has imposed corona curfew to check the spread of this virus. They said that the State Government has taken all necessary and preventative steps to check spread of this pandemic besides ensuring that the people of the State as well as those visiting the State from other parts of the country do not face any inconvenience due to imposition of the corona curfew.
Shri Bhardwaj and Dr. Markanda said that the State Government has allowed free movement to the State from other parts of the country with few conditions, but at the same time was also ensuring to maintain proper record of those visiting the State. They said that for this, the State Information Technology Department has developed software so that Covid e-pass could be provided to the people visiting the State. They said that for this purpose, these people have to get the names and addresses registered in the software so that their travel history could be tracked and traced.
The Ministers said that it was unfortunate that some mischievous elements with ulterior motive and nefarious designs were furnishing fake names and addresses while applying for Covid e-pass which was unfortunate and uncalled for. They said that the service was aimed at providing hassle free entry to the people visiting the State but at the same time ensuring the safety of the people of the State.
Shri Bhardwaj and Dr. Markanda said that it was unfortunate that when the whole world was unitedly fighting the Covid-19 pandemic, a few people were engaged in such cheap deeds which was not only unlawful and illegal but was also against the safety and security of the people.
The Ministers urged the people to provide their wholehearted support to the State Government and also provide proper and authentic information in the larger interest of the State.
