The Himachal Herald, Shimla
The Himachal Pradesh Police has issued a total of 88,369 challans till date for not wearing masks during the COVID pandemic and realised a fine of Rs. 5,00,46000. This exercise is to encourage the public to wear masks and follow COVID protocols. Tourists have been thronging to the hill state of Himachal Pradesh in huge numbers and are politely requested to follow COVID protocols and norms of social distancing when in public places, whether indoors or outdoors. The idea of issuing challans and fining the public is not aimed at causing any financial hardship to the public. The Himachal Pradesh Police has only made this point to drive home the message that the onus is on the public to follow COVID appropriate behavior and to wear masks at all times in public places.

Boasting a rich and dynamic career of over 18 years in journalism. A “journalist” usually works for an organization such as a newspaper or radio or TV station. They are hired to cover news events and present the information in a timely (and hopefully accurate) manner. There are free lance journalists who sell stories to independent companies.
