Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today inaugurated and laid foundation stones of 14 developmental projects worth about Rs. 84 crore at Banjar in Banjar Assembly constituency of Kullu district. He inaugurated Rs. 7.85 crore Deori Sunand road under PMGSY, Rs. 1.23 crore Grahoun to Dalwar road under NABARD, Rs. 11.61 crore Bhuin Diyar Shoundadhar road under PMGSY, Rs. 3.45 crore improvement and metalling and tarring of Sapagni to Kanda road under NABARD, Rs. 2.22 crore lift water supply scheme to partially covered habitation Hawai Shiah in census village Manjhli in tehsil Bhuntar and additional source to WSS Hat of census village in tehsil Bhunter constructed at a cost of Rs. 94 lakh. The Chief Minister laid foundation stones of developmental projects worth Rs. 56.12 crore which include Rs. 18.32 crore augmentation of WSS Sarchi Bandal, Arkhali Phagwara, WSS Seraj, WSS Thatibir, Targali and Mangole in tehsil Banjar, Rs. 7.45 crore augmentation of WSS Neenu Jestha, WSS Narol Dhara in tehsil Bhuntar, Rs. 1.80 crore CAD work for LIS Kalheli, Bajoura in tehsil Bhuntar, Rs. 89 lakh CAD work for LIS Tharas in tehsil Bhuntar, Rs.7.33 crore Banjar Bye Pass road, Rs. 5.82 crore maintenance of Aut to Banjar abandoned road from Aut to Larji, Rs.6.67 crore five storey Cafeteria building at Larji under Nai Raahein Nai Manzilein and Rs. 7.84 crore additional building of Government ITI at Sainj. Jai Ram Thakur said that Rs 108 crore have been spent in Banjar area on construction and maintenance of roads and bridges. As many as 26 projects were being implemented under the PMGSY in the constituency by spending Rs.100 crore. He said that Rs 16 crore were being spent on construction of a 50-bedded hospital at Banjar.
He said that the people of the State have given wholehearted support and cooperation to the present state government. The BJP not only won all the four Lok Sabha seats with a record margin, but also both the Vidhan Sabha seats in by- elections. He said that going a step forward, over 75 percent seats were won by the BJP supported candidates in PRI and ULB elections. He said that during the lockdown due to the pandemic, the state government safely brought home over 2.50 lakh people of the state stranded in different parts of the country. He said that five trains were requisitioned to bring back thousands of people stranded at Goa. The Congress leaders did nothing in this crisis and even tried to politicize this sensitive issue. He reminded the Congress leaders that there were only 50 ventilators in the state at the time of spread of the pandemic whereas today there were over 800 ventilators.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the state government has launched Sahara Yojna for providing financial assistance of Rs 3000 per month to families with chronically ill patients, Grihini Suvidha Yojna to provide free gas connections to about 3.17 lakh households, Himcare Scheme to provide health cover of Rs 5 lakh to eligible families, social security pension to the old, widows, destitute, specially abled etc. He said that over 1.70 lakh families have been benefited under the HIMCARE scheme. He said that Rs 31000 were being provided to daughters of BPL families under the Shagun Yojna at the time of their marriage. The Chief Minister announced that work on constriction of helipad at Banjar would be expedited as this would help in tourism promotion in the area. He announced upgradation of primary schools Bihar and Sujheri to middle schools, high school Sari to senior secondary school, starting of science classes at senior secondary school Gusaini, Ayurvedic dispandary at Jamcha, health sub centre at Shrikot, PHC at Devtha, upgradation of PHC Garsa to CHC, veterinary dispensary at Bajnar to veterinary hospital, making BEO office functional at Sainj, Rs 25 lakh for taxi stand at Banjar, shifting of DFO wildlife office from Shamshi to Larji, upgradation of sub tehsil Sainj to tehsil, upgrading Banjar bus stand,
Local MLA Surender Shourie detailed various developmental demands of the area. He thanked the Chief Minister for dedicating a developmental project worth about Rs 84 crore in Banjar Vidhan Sabha area. He also detailed various developmental projects dedicated and initiated for the area during the last about three and a half years. He said that a sewerage scheme worth Rs 15 crore was being implemented for Banjar town. He said that the area was also being developed from a tourism point of view. District BJP President Bheem Sain, President BJP Banjar Mandal Baldev Mahant, Chairperson, Nagar Parihad Banjar Asha Sharma, BJP leader Yuvraj Bodh, Deputy Commissioner Kullu Ashutosh Garg, SP Gurdev Sharma were present on the occasion among others.
