Gov determined to achieve 100% COVID vaccine coverage across in Himachal

The Government Spokesperson said that the State of Himachal Pradesh has already completed the vaccination of first dose and stood first in the country to achieve 100% coverage of its population with the first dose . He added that the State Government has set a target of completing the second dose of COVID vaccination by the end of this month.
The Government Spokesperson informed that the State crossed the 1cr mark yesterday. A total of 5760111 of first doses and 4326041 of second doses of COVID vaccine have been administered in the State. In order to achieve 100% COVID vaccination coverage with both the doses, focused and robust strategies have been devised by the health department to achieve the target.
He said that the schools have been requested to gather information on COVID vaccination status of the families of the school children and share the list of overdue beneficiaries with the nearest health institution. He added that the Panchayats are already actively involved in COVID vaccination and doing house to house survey for identification and mobilization of COVID vaccine beneficiaries. He added that the vaccination in urban areas is also of utmost importance and involvement of urban bodies will play an important role in ensuring vaccination. For this in urban areas, urban local bodies will ensure vaccination in their respective wards and they may declare their wards 100% vaccinated with 2nd dose.
The Government Spokesperson said that the vaccination status of all the persons visiting the health institutions will be checked and all the eligible persons if left out or missed out shall be guided to the nearest Vaccination Centre for COVID vaccination. In addition the E-Public Distribution System depot holder or I/Cs have also been requested to prepare a list of candidates due or overdue for vaccination by checking the vaccination certificates of the people while giving the ration. This information of enlisted beneficiaries will be further shared with the health teams of nearby Health Institutions.
The Government spokesperson further informed that regular voice SMS are being sent to the beneficiaries who are due for their second jab of COVID vaccination. He further appealed the public that whose 84 days have been completed after first dose of vaccination should get themselves vaccinated with the second dose.
