Jagat Prakash Nadda, Rajya Sabha Member and BJP National President, Jai Ram Thakur, Chief Minister Himachal Pradesh and Anurag Thakur, Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting flagged off the “RUN FOR HIMACHAL” HIMACHAL MARATHON at New Delhi today. Rakesh Pathania, Minister of Forest, Youth Services and Sports, Himachal Pradesh was also present on the occasion.
State Government is celebrating 50th Anniversary of its Statehood and various programmes are being organized across the state. This event is part of the “Swarnim Himachal Mahotsav” and the Marathon was organized by the joint collaboration of State Government, Himachal Social Bodies Federation and Himachali diaspora residing in NCR Delhi. The “RUN FOR HIMACHAL was held from Rajghat to Himachal Bhawan.
Jagat Prakash Nadda in his address on the occasion urged the Himachalis residing in NCR to join the mainstream and contribute towards the development of state and country. He said that state is blessed with immense natural beauty, pollution free environment and added that being a native of Devbhoomi is a blessing in itself. He said Centre government under the leadership of Narendra Modi has always supported the state by sanctioning projects keeping in view the developmental requirements of the state. He said that Himachalis are very connected to their roots no matter where they live and he lauded the Himachalis residing in NCR for preserving the Himachali culture and putting up such a great show on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister lauded the spirit of Himachalis residing in NCR and their dedication towards the state as they have extended their cooperation for conducting the event in national capital. He said that despite being a small hill state, Himachal Pradesh has big achievements to its credit as Himachal Pradesh is considered the model of development. He said that state has excelled in Education, Health and various other sectors. State’s 50 years journey on the path of progress was very glorious one and inspiring one for others, he added. He further said that state has excelled once again by completing the vaccination target of both doses to all eligible persons above 18 years and added that Himachal Pradesh is the first state in the country to achieve this.
He thanked the Prime Minister for his continuous support to the state and added that contribution of Jagat Prakash Nadda during his tenure as Union Health Minister was immense in strengthening health infrastructure in the state especially AIIMS and medical colleges.
Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting while speaking on the occasion said that Himachalis were very simple and hard working people and they have earned credibility for their dependable nature everywhere in the country and abroad. He said that Himachalis have built such a great reputation and command lot of respect in the country. He said that this is a matter of great pride. He gave a clarion call to all Himachalis to unite to strengthen the reputation of Himachalis and scaling more heights of development.
He lauded the contribution of Sh J P Nadda for sanctioning AIIMS and other developmental projects for state during his tenure as Union Minister. He also congratulated the Chief Minister for his continuous efforts for the development of the state.
Later, Minister of Forest, Youth Services and Sports, Himachal Pradesh addressed the participants and Himachalis residing in NCR at a gathering in Himachal Bhawan. He congratulated them for uniting for the event and organizing a wonderful event in the national capital.
Chairperson, Special Olympics Mallika Nadda also spoke on the occasion.
Principal Resident Commissioner S.K. Singla, Members of various Himachali Associations and senior officers of state government were also present on the occasion.
