Guidelines for International Arrivals in India to be followed from 14th Feb

The Government Spokesperson said that the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW) has reviewed the guidelines for International arrivals, keeping in mind that economic activities need to be taken up in an unhindered manner. He said that the guidelines shall be valid with effect from 14th February 2022. He informed that all those travelling abroad should submit a self-declaration form on the online Air Suvidha portal before the scheduled travel. A negative COVID-19 RT-PCR report conducted within 72 hours prior to journey or certificate of completing full primary vaccination schedule of COVID-19 vaccination should be uploaded.
The Government Spokesperson said that on arrival thermal screening would be carried out of all the passengers at the airport. The self-declaration form filled online shall be shown to the airport health staff. He added that the passengers found to be symptomatic during screening shall be immediately isolated and taken to medical facility as per health protocol. If tested positive, their contacts shall be identified and managed as per the protocol.
The Government Spokesperson informed that post arrival at the airport, 2% of the total flight passengers shall undergo COVID testing at random at the airport on arrival. These 2% of travellers in each flight shall be identified by the concerned airlines. He said that if the test is positive, then their samples will be sent for whole genome sequencing at INSACOG laboratory network, for the confirmation of the COVID-19 variant. They shall be treated/isolated as per laid down standard protocol.

The Government Spokesperson added that all travellers will self-monitor their health for next 14 days of arrival. If travellers under self-health monitoring, develop signs and symptoms suggestive of COVID19, they will immediately self-isolate and report to their nearest health facility or call National helpline number (1075)/ State Helpline Number(104).
