Covid-19: 2573 active cases in Himachal

The Government spokesperson said that out of total 332918 active cases in the country, 2573 cases are from the State of Himachal Pradesh. He informed that the active case trend of Himachal Pradesh shows that the number of active cases has increased from 2793 on 8th January 2022 and reached a peak of 17295 cases as on 22nd January 2022. He said that the number of active cases then declined to 7539 on 3rd February 2022 and it further dropped to 2573 cases as on 15th February 2022.
The Government Spokesperson further added that that the numbers of admissions of COVID positive patients have also increased. He said that the bed occupancy initially increased by nearly six times in a span of two weeks, and then declined. He added that on 08/01/2022, total 51 beds were occupied by COVID positive patients, of them 31 patients required oxygen and only 3 patients needed ventilators. Furthermore, he informed that as on 22/01/2022, out of total 17295 active cases, 302 COVID patients required admission in COVID dedicated institutions and of them, 152 patients needed oxygen. The rest 150 patients are maintaining well in room air. He said that as on 15/02/2022, total of 118 COVID positive patients were admitted in COVID dedicated institutions, with 77 patients requiring oxygen and 1 patient needed ventilator.
The Government Spokesperson said that the admissions of the COVID positive patients increased across the State initially and then declined, but most of the patients are stable maintaining well on or off oxygen. He said that of the total admission of COVID positive patients, 0.8% patients required ICU/ventilators. He appealed to the public that though the cases are declining, but still the COVID appropriate behaviours like wearing masks, maintaining social distance, frequently washing hands or using sanitizers irrespective of the vaccination status need to be followed.
