Secretary Agriculture and State Project Director of Prakritik Kheti Khushal Kisan Yojana (PK3Y) Rakesh Kanwar said efforts are on to have a system in place for online sale of natural farming produce of Himachal Pradesh.
Chairing a state level review meeting of PK3Y, Kanwar said a range of produce being grown with Subhash Palekar Natural Farming (SPNF) technique will be identified and sold after proper packaging and branding so that the farmers get a good price in the market.
He said ten ‘mandis’ have also been marked for sale of the natural farming produce in Himachal Pradesh, which will solve marketing problems for the farmers, who have adopted SPNF technique.
He said some organisations have also shown interest in purchasing natural produce from Himachal Pradesh. He said this environment friendly natural farming is picking up in the state. He said the state government has given much importance to this Yojana and has laid down targets for the current financial year.
The Secretary Agriculture reviewed the progress of all the districts in the meeting.
Executive Director, PK3Y, Prof. Rajeshwar Singh Chandel talked about different emerging issues from the field in a presentation at the review meeting.
The meeting was attended by Project Directors (PDs) and Deputy Project Directors (DPDs) with Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) from different districts of Himachal Pradesh, along with officials from SPIU-PK3Y.
