• CM announces new Electricity Circle for Nurpur

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur announced new police district for Nurpur which would cover four constituencies having border areas with Punjab. After Baddi, this would be the second police district in the state. He also announced a separate circle of HP state electricity board at Nurpur which would also cater the area of these four assembly constituencies.
The Chief Minister also announced new veterinary hospitals for Sulyali, Jachh, Kherian and dispensary at Baduhi. He announced upgradation of CHC Kherian to 30-bedded, PHC at Sukhar, Fattu-da-Baag and change of existing BMO office name from Gangath to Nurpur. He also announced the opening of Ayurvedic sub centers at Khel, Sugat and Mekhar. He announced upgradation of GHS Kamnala, Danni and Khajjan to GSSS while science classes at GSSS Giora and science and commerce classes at GSSS Dhaneti. He upgraded GMS Baduhi Khas, Khed, Bagni, Thoda Bhalun, Mao (Punder) and Thoda to high schools. He announced GPS Baruhi to GMS. The Chief Minister announced the opening of new patwar circles at Aund, Baranda and Bassa.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur announced this while addressing a largely attended public gathering at Nurpur Chowgan after dedicating and laying foundation stones of developmental projects worth Rs. 163.55 crores of Nurpur assembly constituency in district Kangra today.
Jai Ram Thakur said that it is the commitment of the state government that unprecedented and unparalleled development has been witnessed in the state during the present tenure of the government. The state government has ensured uninterrupted pace of development in the state even during Covid pandemic, he added.
The Chief Minister said that women constitute 50 percent of the population of the state therefore to facilitate them the state government has reduced the bus fare for women by 50 percent in HRTC buses. Besides this, the state government also decided to enhance free electricity from 60 units to 125 units. The decision of the government to provide free electricity of 60 units has benefitted 11 lakh consumers in the state. Similarly, the decision of free water supply in rural areas of the state would benefit 90 percent of the population of the state.

Earlier, the Chief Minister dedicated 24 developmental projects and buildings worth Rs. 100.32 crores to the people of Nurpur segment. These included Rs. 73.60 crore Finna Singh medium irrigation project, Rs. 6.90 crore Sports indoor stadium, Rs. 5 crore fire brigade building at Boh, Rs. 1.07 crore lift water supply scheme for Bassa, Hadialan, Kandi, Thalli and Kulahn villages, Rs. 93.12 lakhs lift water supply scheme for Bhaleta Aghar and Panjhara area, Rs. 4.58 crores lift water supply schemes for drought hit area of Nurpur, construction of 26 tube wells constructed at the cost of Rs. 2.76 crores, Forest Rest House Malakwal constructed at the cost of Rs. 90 lakhs, divisional forest office building constructed at the cost of Rs. 80 lakhs, cow sanctuary Suliali constructed at the cost of Rs. 70 lakhs.
The Chief Minister also performed the foundation laying ceremony of 22 various developmental projects worth Rs. 63.23 crores. Construction of 100-bedded additional block of Civil Hospital Nurpur (Rs.12.50 crores), construction of synthetic track at Chougan (Rs. 7.50 crore), construction of Library and Museum at Sulyali (Rs. 5 crores), construction of Wazeer Ram Singh Pathania memorial Samiti (Rs.3 crores), construction of Lakhanpur- Chandrahan- Baranda road (4.52 crores), construction of Bhaloon- Galod via Basa road (3.85 crores) and bridge over Chhonchh khud (Rs.1.57 crores) were among the major projects.
Later, the Chief Minister also visited historic and famous Brijraj Swami Temple Nurpur and paid obeisance.
Forest Minister Rakesh Pathania while welcoming the Chief Minister said under the dynamic leadership of CM Jai Ram Thakur Nurpur assembly segment has excelled in all-round development and a new era of growth has begun for the people of the constituency. He thanked the Chief Minister for dedicating the projects worth Rs. 97.24 crore and laying foundation stones of the projects to be completed at the cost of Rs. 58.64 crores.

Chaudhary, Vice Chairman State Small Savings Board Sanjay Guleria, former MP Kripal Parmar, President District BJP Ramesh Rana, Mandal President Kuldeep Pathak, President Municipal Council Nurpur Ashok Sharma, vice president MC Nurpur Rajni Mahajan, Zila parishad member Arpana Devi, BDC chairperson Kusum Devi, Director YSS Rajesh Sharma, Chief project director (JICA) Nagesh Guleria, Deputy Commissioner Nipun Jindal and Superintendent of Police Khushal Sharma were also present on the occasion.
