CM presides over ‘Pragatisheel Himachal: Sathapna Ke 75 Varsh’ celebrations at Baloh Dhami

• Inaugurates and lays foundation stones of 10 developmental projects worth Rs. 35 crore for Shimla Rural AC

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while presiding over the ‘Pragatisheel Himachal: Sathapna Ke 75 Varsh’ celebrations to commemorate 75 years of existence of Himachal Pradesh at Baloh Dhami in Shimla Rural Assembly Constituency of Shimla district today performed inaugurations and foundation stones of 10 developmental projects worth about Rs. 35 crore for the constituency.
Jai Ram Thakur inaugurated Rs. 1.02 crore Lift Irrigation Scheme Seri Churand in GP Baloh in tehsil Shimla, Rs. 17.50 crore Lift Water Supply scheme Seri Sainj Khad to left out villages/panchayats Shakrh, Devnagar, Okhroo, Totu Chailly etc. in tehsil Shimla, Rs. 1.44 crore LIS Madrech Anu, Ratiya in GP Juni tehsil Sunni, Rs. 3.91 crore construction and metalling tarring of Gharog to Nalta road, Rs. 2.08 crore foot bridge on Sainj khad near Nagar-Kaloh-Shaveli-Mandri, Rs. 2.80 crore Science Lab at Government Senior Secondary School at Pahal, Rs. 1.43 crore Government Senior Secondary School at Bychari, and Rs. 83 lakh PHC (Institution level-II) at Kohbag. He also laid foundation stones of Rs. 2.38 crore road from Okhru to Nehra via Keru and Rs. 83 lakh single lane bridge at Thachi-Rehana road over Sainj khad.
While addressing a public meeting on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that today the whole nation was celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to celebrate 75 years of independence of India. He said that this year Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a clarion call to the people of the country to hoist Tricolour on their houses under ‘Har Ghar Tiranga campaign’. He said that it was done to instill the sense of love, passion and respect for the nation and the Tricolour. He said that the Dhami area has also been immortalized due to the infamous Dhami carnage that took place at Dhami about 82 years ago for the freedom of the nation and for securing a separate identity for Himachal Pradesh.
Jai Ram Thakur said that Himachal Pradesh has also completed 75 years of its existence and the State Government was celebrating this event in a befitting manner by organizing 75 events throughout the State. He said that the main objective to celebrate this occasion was to educate the younger generation about the developmental, cultural and political journey of the State during these years. He said that at the time of formation of the State, there were only four districts and the area was also 25,839 sq. kms. He said that the parameters like health, education, roads and horticulture production have also increased manifold.
Chief Minister said that the Corona pandemic proved the biggest calamity of the century, but due to the able leadership provided by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Nation not only came out from this crisis, but also successfully launched the biggest vaccination campaign of the world. He said that it was immaterial how long one has served the State, but how effectively one has done it was all the more important. He said that schemes such as Mukhya Mantri Grihini Suvidha Yojna, Beti Hai Anmol, Mukhya Mantri Shagun Yojna and assistance for women self help groups have ensured empowerment of the women. It was strange that the leaders who claimed to be the tallest leaders of the State, never thought of such schemes for welfare of the poor and downtrodden, he added.
Jai Ram Thakur said that developmental demands of the area would be considered sympathetically.
BJP candidate of 2017 elections from Shimla Rural Vidhan Sabha area Dr. Pramod Sharma, while welcoming the Chief Minister, said that one must know that the leadership of the State would again be provided to a person who understands the needs and aspirations of a common man.
Chairman Kailash Federation and District BJP President Ravi Mehta welcomed the Chief Minister to his home constituency and said that Dhami was known for the ‘Dhami Goli Kand’, which laid the sound foundation of a separate identity of Himachal Pradesh. He also detailed a few developmental demands of the area and thanked the Chief Minister for always being considerate towards the developmental demands of the area.
Urban Development Minister Suresh Bhardwaj, former MLA Arki Govind Ram Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Shimla Aditya Negi, BJP District General Secretary Gagan Sharma, Mandal BJP President Dinesh Thakur, Pradhan Gram Panchayat Inder Thakur, BJP Office Secretary Pyar Singh were present on the occasion among others.
