In big jolt to Himachal Pradesh Congress, the very close aide of former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and working president of Himachal Pradesh Congress Harsh Mahajan on Wednesday joined BJP in Delhi . BJP leader Trilok Kapur said Mahajan who hails from chamba and has lot of support and clout in the state was the former chairman of HP Cooperative Society and ex-cabinet minister , belonged to a dedicated Congress family who served the party for last 60 years.He joined BJP in Delhi in the presence of Union Commerce and Industries Piyush Goyal and also met the national president Jagat Prakash Nadda .

State BJP general secretary Kapoor said Mahajan, who belonged to Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, has joined the party after getting inspired with the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and policies of the party.

Mahajan was a long serving Youth Congress leader and had won elections thrice from Chamba assembly segment but he got disillusioned with Congress leadership.
Congress party has no leadership or policy or vision for the welfare of the state or country which is the reason that many party leaders were deserting the party, he added.

Kapoor said lot of neopotism is prevalent in the Congress in the state and centre and that is why leaders are leaving the party , the Congress is in the hands of mother son in the state and the centre as well who have a fuedal mindset and ignoring the workers and dedicated leaders

Kapoor further stated that there is double engine government in Himachal which had resulted in all round development of the state during the rule of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur. In addition, PM Modi has extended all possible support which has led to the fulfilment of the aspirations of the people of the state. This will result in the BJP completing mission repeat in Himachal and Jai Ram Thakur will once again be the CM for the second consecutive term, he further added.
