23 developmental projects worth Rs. 62 crore for Kinnaur

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 23 developmental projects costing about Rs. 62 crore for Kinnaur assembly constituency and presided over the ‘Pragatisheel Himachal: Sathapna ke 75 Varsh’ function organised at Chholtu near Tapri.

While addressing the largely attended public meeting at Chholtu, the Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, had launched ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan’ on the completion of 75 years of India’s independence to express gratitude to the freedom fighters who had made sacrifices for the cause of independence. He said that this campaign was carried out comprehensively in whole country including Himachal.
Chief Minister said that our state had also entered in the 75th year of its formation. To acknowledge the contribution of hardworking and honest people and great leaders who had played an active role in the progress and prosperity of the state, the State government had organized ‘Pragatisheel Himachal: Sathapna ke 75 Varsh’ function across Himachal.
Jai Ram Thakur said that in Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we had got a leadership that understands and connects with the sentiments of the people of country. Under the leadership of Prime Minister, India is being recognised as a strong nation throughout the world. Under his strong and farsighted leadership, the country had not only withstood the testing times of Covid pandemic but was also successful in manufacturing indigenous vaccine. Apart from this, the world’s largest vaccination campaign was also successfully concluded in the country. While congratulating the people of Kinnaur for becoming the first district in achieving 100 percent target in COVID-19 vaccination, he said that with the collective efforts, Himachal had topped in the country in administering first and second doses of COVID vaccine.
The Chief Minister said that the opposition parties were very upset over the public welfare schemes and programs of the State Government and they were trying to mislead the people.

He said that the state government had been working by staying close to the poor. He himself belongs to a humble background and had experienced poverty and hardship very closely. Keeping in view the hardships and needs of weaker sections of the society, the government had started schemes like Mukhyamantri Sahara, Himcare, Mukhyamantri Shagun with resolve to benefit the underprivileged.
Jai Ram Thakur said that fulfilling the needs and the development of this tribal district has always been the top most priority for our government and is working tirelessly with utmost dedication to provide quality life to the people of this area. He said that the government had approved 344 cases of Forest Rights Act (FRA) which were pending since year 2008. He said that under the Tribal Area Development Program, a budget provision of Rs. 140 crore had been made for Kinnaur district in the financial year 2022-23, which is Rs. 35 crore more than the previous financial year.
Chief Minister also inaugurated 18 developmental projects worth Rs. 42.15 crore on this occasion. He inaugurated Rs. 56 lakh water supply scheme Sangla Kanda, Rs. 1.42 crore restoration work of irrigation scheme from Holdo Nala to Rispa village, Rs. 1.25 crore irrigation scheme for Kharodo Orchard from Janggi rest house, Rs. 70 lakh Assistant Engineer office and residence in Akpa sub-division, Rs. 1.66 crore 22 KV line in Rukti (Sangla), Rs. 3 crore 22 KV HT line for electrification of border areas at Control Point Dumti, Rs. 2.47 crore 22 KV HT line for electrification of border areas at Rishi Dogri, Rs. 56 lakh line for electrification of border areas at Lukma-1 and Rs. 98 lakh line for electrification of border areas at Lukma-2, Rs. 93 lakh parking at Sangla, Rs. one crore building of government senior secondary school Nigulsari, Rs. 3.56 crore Girl’s hostel in Eklavya Model Residential School Nichar, Rs. 11 crore Mazgaon (Rupi) road, Rs. 4.12 crore building of Devi Chandika Government Senior Secondary School at Kathi, Rs. 4 crore building of GSSS Rarang, Rs. 2.33 crore Government High School building at Asrang, Rs. 1.42 crore Bus Stand at Pooh and Rs. 1.20 crore ITI building at Reckong Peo.
Chief Minister also laid the foundation stones of five developmental projects worth Rs 19.84 crore. These include source strengthening of water supply scheme for Rekangpeo and adjoining areas worth Rs. 15.54 crore, sewerage treatment plant costing Rs 1.13 crore for EMRS School Nichar and the reconstruction work of staging hut in Gram Panchayat Asrang worth Rs. 1.30.
Earlier, the Chief Minister was accorded a grand and traditional welcome by the local people in large number.
Chief Minister also visited the exhibition of various departments based on the theme ‘Himachal then and now’. He also participated in the signature campaign run by the Election Department and took selfies at the selfie point.
Vice-Chairman of Himachal Pradesh State Forest Development Corporation Surat Negi welcomed the CM and thanked him for inaugurating and laying the foundation stones of various developmental projects. Former MLA Tejwant Negi also expressed his views on the occasion.
A song to commemorate 75 years of the formation of Himachal Pradesh and a documentary based on the developmental journey of Himachal by the department of Information and Public Relations was also screened on the occasion.
