The State Government, Health Department and NHM HP have continuously been striving to strengthen the healthcare facilities in the state by making them easily accessible and able enough to provide quality healthcare services to the people of Himachal Pradesh. Under National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS), Civil Hospital Sarkaghathas been Nationally Certified forproviding better healthcare facilities by Government of India. It is second suchPublic Healthcare Facility in Himachal Pradesh after RHKullu.
Providing this informationDr.Nipun Jindal, Mission Director, National Health Mission (NHM), HP, said that a virtual NQAS assessments of twohealthcare facilities i.e. CH Sarkaghat and CH Palampur were donein the month of February this year. The Quality Certification Program has been started with the objective of recognising/accrediting and awarding institutions providing better healthcare facilities and thereby improving their reliability in the community. Certification based on National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) is awarded on meeting pre-defined criteria.Certified institutions are also provided with financial incentives in the form of recognition of provision of better healthcare services.
Giving further information, he said that the Labour Room (LR) of Civil Hospital Palampur is National LaQshya certified and Maternity Operation Theatre (MOT) is National LaQshya certified with conditionality. LaQshya is a quality improvement initiative for the Labour Room that envisages the purpose of providing and appropriately improving urgent care facilities during and after delivery.
