– A BRIBERY CASE AND RECOVERS CASH OF RS. 3.01 CRORE(APPROX) DURING SEARCHES

The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested four Officials including Divisional Manager, two Managers, an Assistant, all of Food Corporation of India in a bribery case of Rs.One Lakh. Searches were conducted at 06 places in Bhopal at the official/residential premises of accused. During searches, cash of Rs.3.01 crore(approx); Gold jewellery 387gms(approx) & 670 gms(approx) Silver articles/jewellery and also certain documents were recovered. The said cash amount was allegedly kept in different envelopes, some of the bundles marked / written with names, dates and amounts etc. Some cash amount was allegedly found in heavy safety vault / chest which was concealed in the wooden almirah. A Note Counting Machine was also found.
Further, a diary was recovered containing the alleged records including cash amounts obtained, date, name, etc. A case was registered on a complaint against a Manager (Accounts), Food Corporation of India, Divisional Office, Bhopal(Madhya Pradesh) on the allegations of demanding bribe of Rs. 1,50,000/- for releasing the pending bills of Complainant’s company for January, Feruary and March at Rs 50,000/- per month. It was also alleged that the accused demanded Rs 70,000/- each for the new bills to be submitted.
CBi laid a trap and caught the accused while demanding & accepting the bribe of Rs1,00,000/- from the Complainant. The arrested accused will be produced today before the Special Judge for CBI Cases, Bhopal.
