-RECOVERS CASH OF RS. 1.12 CRORE (APPROX.) DURING SEARCHES

The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Sub-Inspector posted at Police Station Maidan Garhi, Delhi for demanding & accepting bribe of Rs. 50,000/- from the complainant.
A case was registered against Sub-Inspector, Police Station, Maidan Garhi, Delhi on a complaint wherein it was alleged that the Sub-Inspector has demanded initially a bribe amount of Rs.Five lakh from the complainant and further informed the complainant to give at least Rs.Two lakh on 27.10.2021 to favour him and his friend in a case/FIR registered in Police Station, Maidan Garhi, Delhi and also not to oppose their bail applications.
CBI laid a trap and caught the Sub-Inspector red handed while demanding & accepting the bribe of Rs. 50,000/- from the complainant.
Searches were conducted at the premises of accused which led to recovery of cash of Rs.5,47,350/- (approx.) from his car; Rs.1.07 crore (approx.) from his residence; certain documents and other articles.
The arrested accused will be produced today before the Designated Court at Delhi.
Further investigation is continuing.
