Sukhu sought co-operation of employees and people for accelerating the pace of development

During his Kangra sojourn, Chief Minister, Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu was accorded a rousing reception by all cadres of the party. After arriving at the Mini Secretariat at Dharamshala, the Chief Minister held a meeting with officers to discuss the development blueprint for Kangra district.

During the meeting, Chief Minister assured to accelerate development projects and sought co-operation of the people of the State and the employees to achieve the targets within a stipulated time. Within the next three years the government’s endeavours would be visible on the ground giving a fillip to the economy and ensuring the welfare of every section of society.
The state government has reinstated the old pension to address the concerns of the employees, despite the central government has reduced the state’s loan limit by Rs. 5,500 crore. However, the state government remains committed to augmenting its resources, he said. Accordingly, the decision to impose water cess has been made, and despite obstacles from the Union Government, 87 projects of the state have been registered under this act. The Chief Minister also noted that the state government’s decision to auction liquor vends has resulted in 40 percent increase in the revenue.
He highlighted the state government’s significant reforms in green energy, tourism, education, and health sectors. Administrative reforms are also underway to ensure that the people of the state can avail the benefits of various schemes.
