Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today inaugurated and laid foundation stones of developmental projects worth about Rs. 37 crore at Swarghat in Sri Naina Devi Ji Vidhan Sabha area of Bilaspur district.

Jai Ram Thakur performed foundation stone laying ceremonies of bridge at Leheri khad on Palsed-Kalakund road to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 1.09 crore, Rs. 5.95 crore Maithi-Shaikli road under NABARD, Rs.5.25 crore Lag-Ghat Jamli road under NABARD, Rs. 4.92 crore Galuwa-Chalaila road under NABARD in Gram Panchayat Nakrana, Rs. 3.01 crore Lift Water Supply Scheme for adjoining villages of Gram Panchayat Nakrana, Rs. 3.74 crore link road at Surhad under NABARD, Rs. 48 lakh Electrical Sub Division Office building at Kot and Rs. 6.66 crore retrofitting and source level augmentation of various left out habitations in Jal Shakti Sub Division Swarghat and Bassi under Jal Jeevan Mission.
Later, while addressing the ‘Samman Samaroh’ organized by BJP Mandal Sri Naina Devi Ji, Chief Minister said that 33 KV augmentation of Electric Sub Division Swarghat would benefit people of 10 panchayats Swarghat, Jagatkhana, Tanbol, Tali, Jukhari, Behal, Tarwar, Swahan, Ree, Bah, Kundalu villages of the area. He said that Panchayats were the basic and most important units of democracy and also play a vital role in development and progress of their respective areas. He said that about 70 per cent Pradhans and Vice Pardhans elected in the State were BJP supported candidates and this shows the faith of people in the State Government. He said that in BDC elections, 68 were BJP supported whereas only 10 were from Congress. He urged the elected representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions to work sincerely as per the aspiration and hopes of the local people.
Jai Ram Thakur said that with sharp spike in the Corona cases in the State, it has become important that each one of us ensure effective use of face masks and maintain social distancing. He said that this pandemic has badly affected the world economy and India was not an exception. He said that although there was no need to panic, but at the same time we need to be careful and keep an eye on the situation. He said that the nation was fortunate that during this testing time, the nation was headed by an able and dynamic leader. He said that before the break of coronavirus last year, there were only 50 ventilators in the State and the Centre had provided 500 ventilators to the State. He said at that time there was scarcity of PPE kits but today the country was manufacturing about 6 lakh PPE kits per day and exporting the same to several countries.
Chief Minister said that it was under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that largest immunization programme of the world was being implemented in the country. He said that the State Government brought home about 2.50 lakh youths stranded in different parts of the country, but the Congress leaders made a much hue and cry that the State Government was spreading corona, which shows the double face of the Congress leaders. He thanked the BJP workers for helping the needy during the lockdown. He also thanked the people for giving their wholehearted support to the State Government during the last three years, whereas on the other hand Congress was a divided house in the State striving hard to remain in news.
While detailing various welfare schemes launched by the State Government, Chief Minister said that the Jan Manch, Chief Minister Helpline, Sahara Yojna, Himcare, Grihini Suvidha Yojna etc have benefitted lakhs of people of the State. He said that about 1.30 lakh people were provided free treatment under Himcare and under Sahara Yojna Rs 3000 per month were provided to the families with chronically ill patients. He said that under Grihini Suvidha Yojna as many as 2.92 lakh families were provided free gas connections.
Chief Minister announced opening of HPSEB Sub Division at Swarghat, upgradation of PHC Swarghat to CHC, upgradation of Primary School Ree to Middle School, construction of Mini Secretariat at Swarghat as and when land was made available, starting of more trades in Industrial Training Institutes at Swarghat and Naina Devi, starting bus service from Naina Devi to Shimla and Behal to Nalagarh and construction of panchayat ghars in all the six new panchayats of the area. He said that RTO would sit once in a month at Swarghat to pass the vehicles and matter would be considered sympathetically to open sub judge office at Swarghat,
Chief Minister honoured the newly elected representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions and Urban Local Bodies and also representatives of Voluntary Organization and NGOs of the area.
Union Minister of State for Cooperate Affairs Captain Anurag Singh Thakur said that Chief Minister during his one day visit to the area has dedicated developmental projects for ensuring development of this area. He said that Chief Minister has ensured that all the irrigation and drinking water projects were implemented in the State at the earliest. He said that the Corona pandemic was not yet over thus each one of us must ensure that they strictly follow SOPs laid down from time to time. He said that Modi Government during the Covid pandemic provided free ration to about 80 crore poor and provided Rs 31,000 crore financial assistance to the poor women in the country. He detailed various schemes initiated by the Union Government for welfare of the people of the State. He said that interest free loan of Rs 450 crore for 50 years has been provided by the Union Government to the State of Himachal Pradesh. He also appreciated the steps taken by the Chief Minister to effectively control the corona pandemic in the State.
Chief Spokesman of State BJP and former MLA of Sri Naina Devi ji Assembly Constituency Randhir Sharma while welcoming the Chief Minister to Sri Naina Devi ji Constituency thanked the Chief Minister for dedicating developmental projects worth crores of Rupees in his constituency. He said that the double engine Governments at the State and Centre was ensuring balanced and alround development of the State. He said that although the pandemic has adversely affected the pace of development, but the PM at Centre and Chief Minister at State ensured that the pace of development goes uninterrupted. He said that the people of the area have given their whole hearted support to the State Government due to which almost all the posts of PRIs in the area was won by the BJP supported candidates. He also detailed various developmental demands of the area.
Mandal BJP President Onkar Singh Thakur welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries present on the occasion.
